Quasar: Quasars are immensly bright objects in the distant universe. They are not fully understood by astronomers. Some astronomers believe that they may be the result of a supermassive black hole lurking at the center of the quasar, which is feeding on stars and heating up gas to millions or billions degrees Kelvin. This high temperature makes the area around the supermassive black hole extremely bright. |
